Pfizer Ophthalmics introduces Xal-Ease, a handheld eye drop delivery aid de-signed exclusively for Xalatan. The one-touch push button of the Xal-Ease system dispenses only a single drop into the eye. The company says this makes the application of drops easier for patients and reduces waste of the medication. None of the medication is exposed to the container, so risk of contamination is minimal. In addition, the slanted angle minimizes how far patients have to tilt their heads to use eyedrops. An easy-to-remove cap further simplifies use. Xal-Ease is provided free of charge to physicians for their patients. Also, Xalatan itself is now available in a multipack of three 2.5-mL bottles. Call 1 (888) 691-6813 or visit xalatan.com.
